2. Empowerment - What does it mean?

With there being such a huge movement in self-development and self-empowerment and so many people talking, teaching, coaching, and incorporating it into their own businesses and lives, I thought it would be of great value to break down the many ways you can and are able to empower yourselves.

There are many people who have achieved and are at a level of empowerment that serves them well. And whilst this is true, I believe there is always room for growth, especially on a personal level. The other thing worth mentioning is that you are human and may find that while you are enabling new changes to occur, you can slip up and revert back to old habits.

Some of you may be wondering or asking, ‘why is there an emphasis on empowerment?’

There are numerous reasons why. A couple of big ones are that we are living in an era where people really see the value of their own personal growth and evolution. This is not something new, it has just expanded exponentially due to having access to the resources (old and new), information, and teachings at our fingertips and on a global scale thanks to technology.

Having access to so many influential people talking about this via social media and the web, has led to more awareness around this topic. Therefore, there is an increased motivation in wanting to stand in your power and take charge of your life to achieve and create the relationships, career, and life that you believe you can have.

Another reason is because many of you may find yourselves feeling powerless. You may feel that you are being walked over and others are running the show and/or your lives. Sometimes due to feeling like this, you may feel the need to control whatever you can. Being controlling is not an empowered state of being. There may be feelings of unfulfillment, fatigue, mental health issues, trauma, feeling stuck, anger, resentment, time restraints, putting yourself last and a plethora of others that affect your movement forward to achieve what is important to you.

The most important approach to this and for yourself is to find out why you are feeling this way. Why are you experiencing certain situations? What can you do for yourself? And how you can heal emotionally and take action to move forward with renewed belief in yourself that those things and situations can change.

The other big player in this is the Universe and Universal Laws. Not only does it respond to your thoughts and words, the Universe also responds to how you feel. Where thought and feelings go, energy flows, therefore, you are continuously cocreating with the Universe.

So, if you are walking around feeling, thinking, and constantly telling yourself and others how disempowered you are and complaining about all the things that are wrong in your life, how do you think the Universe will respond? That’s right! It will match your energy and continue to give you more of the same. The story you tell yourself creates your reality, so it is up to you to begin to change the story. This is known as conscious empowerment.

Empowering yourself enough to be able to change your story and reality can be difficult to do on your own. I understand you if you are in this situation as I have been there many times before. Healing therapies are excellent for this as the practitioner is able to address what is really going on and observe it with objectivity. This gives you the opportunity to observe it from a different perspective, forming new awareness and insight into yourself and what is occurring in your life.

How does Reiki, Forensic Healing and other energy healing therapies help empower you?

This is a big question and difficult to answer in just one article as we are multi-faceted human beings.

I could name many ‘big’ empowering changes that happen, but I would like to bring an awareness to something that I believe can be overlooked. Every single step you take that leads to you bettering yourself, your relationships, work, finances, every aspect of your life no matter what it is, is empowering you in some way. It is not just the end result. It is every thought changed, action taken, new behaviour and pattern created. Every time you voice your truth, follow and trust your instinct, take accountability and responsibility for your words, actions, and behaviour. Every time you honour yourself and seek people, groups and/or organisations that can help you heal and shift to take the next step.

Every time you choose to do these things, those small steps accumulate and become powerful steps that empower you.

Reiki healing and Forensic Healing help to release feelings of confusion, overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and the need to control, which all disempower you. It gives you clarity and focus on the things that need to change for your own advancement. The practitioner and the healing therapy is there to guide you and assist in your healing so that you are able to achieve all the above-mentioned steps, changes, and choices by addressing small and bigger issues and breaking them down into manageable steps that don’t overwhelm you. The energy healings together with the changes you make will also help you to become more confident and raise your self-esteem.

These two therapies address all different types of psychological and physical issues and traumas. And as they also work on your energy to release blockages and stagnant energy, it clears your energy field making space for you to integrate all the new awareness’s and knowledge that are gained. It allows you to shift on many different levels which leave you feeling lighter and more positive and empowered to move forward. You will learn how to stand in your own power and not be overshadowed by anyone else, your past, your fears and many other negative and draining emotions and perspectives. I find it to be a wonderfully beneficial and ‘whole-istic’ approach.

Healings, inner work and being proactive in changing yourself and your life leads you to personal empowerment. You become a more whole, evolved, and conscious human that is learning to flow and become aligned, therefore, standing in your power and creating a better life. One that is rich from the inside out.

Being empowered is not being powerful. It is more of a feeling that ripples into the smallest of choices and decisions, which are so important as we do them on a daily basis. When you create from that feeling day in and day out, you will create new habits which end up changing your life one day at a time and make choices that will alter and enrich your life in ways you never imagined.

When you truly feel empowered, you will trust and surrender more as you co-create with the Universe, you will become more present in life and more embodied in your being. And that is where the true power lies.

Blessings,
